THE NORTHSIDE TRAIL IS A PRIVATELY OPERATED CLUB TRAIL AND ITS TRAIL IS NOT FUNDED BY THE STATE OF MICHIGAN.
TO RIDE ON THE LEASED LANDS OF THE NORTHSIDE SNOWMOBILE CLUB'S TRAIL SYSTEM, YOU MUST BE A NORTHSIDE SNOWMOBILE CLUB MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING AND YOUR SNOWMOBILES MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE STATE OF MICHIGAN . YOU MUST ALSO DISPLAY YOUR STATE TRAIL PERMIT, AND NSC LOGO EACH SNOWMOBILE.
NOT COMPLYING VIOLATES THE NSC TRAIL LEASES AND CONSTITUTES TRESPASSING AGAINST THE TRAIL’S LANDOWNERS!
Applying to join the Northside Snowmobile Club
Applicants must be age at least age 18. The only exception are minors who are least age 12 and possess a valid state safety education card may join with their parent’s permission.
If you join the NSC by November 30th, you will receive a discount on your dues. Mailed applications must be postmarked no later than 27 November.
Complete name (including spouse if applicable). You also need to enter a complete address to include street address, City, State and Zip Code. Without complete information you may not receive your membership packet and newsletters.
Each snowmobile for which any decal is issued must be identified by make, i.e. “Arctic Cat“; model, i.e. “Cougar 550“; year “1998“ and current state registration number, this is the number on the state registration decal you get, i.e. “YE1234“. We cannot issue decals to unregistered snowmobiles.
Two NSC Decals are included with your membership dues.
There is a small additional fee for each additional decal. Each
snowmobile that you will be using on our trail has to have it's own decal
for membership identification.
Decals will not be issued if there are not enough valid registration numbers
on your application. If you enter a number that is not registered to you or
fail to enter all your numbers, you will have to contact the membership
chair personally. The same holds true for insufficient amounts sent with the
application. We just cannot process incomplete applications.
Applications received January 1 - March 31 will be processed for same calendar year season of that year. Forms received April 1 through December 31 will be processed for the season the following calendar year (although your membership package may be delayed).
Membership in the Michigan Snowmobile Association is
encouraged but optional.

Maintenance of, and safety on, the trail is every NSC member’s responsibility.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Each person who participates in the sport of snowmobiling accepts the risks
associated with that sport insofar as the dangers are obvious and inherent.
Those risks include, but are not limited to, injuries to persons or property
that can result from variations in terrain; surface or subsurface snow or ice
conditions; bare spots; rocks, trees, and other forms of natural growth or
debris; or collisions with signs, fences, or other snowmobiles or snow-grooming
equipment. Those risks do not include injuries to persons or property that can
result from the use of a snowmobile by another person in a careless or negligent
manner likely to endanger person or property. When a snowmobile is operated in
the vicinity of a railroad right-of-way, each person who participates in the
sport of snowmobiling additionally assumes risks including, but not limited to,
entanglement with tracks, switches, and ties and collisions with trains and
other equipment and facilities.
